Happy Friday!
Students have expressed that they feel that Home Journals are no longer helpful to them, so instead, we are working together to create a web of reflections about our week. Here are some of the things that we really enjoyed over the last couple of weeks:
Field Trip Forms:
Apologies again for the plethora of forms that have come home over the past few weeks.
If you have not yet returned the swimming forms, we do need those back for Monday as we need to get the ability forms to Thorncliffe Pool. Also, my apologies for those of you who received the incorrect form. Hopefully I have corrected all of those.
We go back to Simon Fraser on Tuesday for Lion King Junior, and there are still a few people who need to return forms for that as well.
Important Dates and Reminders:
- We go in-line skating on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
- Simon Fraser Lion King Junior - Tuesday March 19th 9:15 am - 12:00 pm

- Thursday March 21st is an Early Dismissal Day
- There is no school on Friday March 22nd

Home Journals are coming home today! Please take a moment to read, sign, and send them back for Monday. We are missing quite a few Home Journals, if they happen to be hanging out at home, please send them to school next week :).
Here is the web that we created to help us write our Journals:
Here are some of the students' highlights from the week:

Here are some of the students' highlights from the week:
“For gym this week we practiced basketball. We practiced dribbling the ball, we practiced
throwing the ball, and we practiced shooting the balls in the hoop”. –
Priscilla
“In math we are doing something I really liked. We’re making a zoo, and we are going to build
it after we are done.” – Mihaly
“My highlight this week was math because we did Math
Minute. Math minute is when you have a
sheet of paper full of math questions and have one minute to answer as many
questions as you can. Each day I noticed
that I can answer more questons!” – Isra
“This week in school we did art with Mrs. Sayani. We did Zen Gardens and mine was really pretty
and nice. Art was really fun!” – Sanaa
“In French we wrote down the 80’s. After I finished writing it down I played
memory with French numbers. I won the
game.” – Jayden
“Every Monday and Wednesday we go to Mrs. Hargreave’s class
for Science. We work on our simple
machines, the pulley, the screw, the wedge, the inclined plane, and the lever!”
– Chad
“Some of my highlights were Science because we did
Scratch. Scratch is like making the cat
do what you want to do in code.” – Fofo
"Also in Math we did Venn Diagrams, which was fun because I
go to know 3 separate diagrams.” – Manav
“In Music we are learning a new song called, “The Noble Duke
of York". We already learned the
movement. It’s really fun to learn the
movement and the song.” – Jude
“We are reading this book called, “Dinosaur Fever” and we
have to look for words like interesting words, ways to tell a story, dinosaurs,
and descriptions of Alberta.” - Scott
Stay tuned next week for highlights from other students :).
Have a great weekend!
